Everyone a rainmaker: perceptions of the learning organisation. This article presents the reflections of participants in the series of seminars on 'Transforming the Organisation's Mind'. It was published in OR Insight, Jan-Mar 1995 and was referenced by Arie de Geus in his widely acclaimed book, The Living Company, Nicholas Brealey, 1997. (OR Insight is an Operational Research Society publication with a more practical orientation than its academic journal - access the ORS website here.) Gathering, Organising and Interpreting Information for Organisational Learning, a paper discussed at the workshop on strategies for collaborative modelling and simulation at a 1996 conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work, held in Boston, USA. What a difference a day makes! describes how simple system dynamic modelling added value for a client struggling with a dysfunctional relationship with a key contractor. The article appeared in OR Insight, Jan-Mar 1999. Many heads are better than a few. This piece in the Strategic Planning Society's magazine, Strategy, in September 2000, reviewed the pay-off from wide participation in the planning process. Link to the SPS website here. Mobilising Tacit Knowledge arose from efforts to understand the similarities and differences between knowledge management and organisational learning perspectives. The article includes a number of case studies and concludes the business value of knowledge management needs to be emphasised. It was published in the August 2001 issue of the AMED journal, Organisations & People. (AMED is the Association for Management Education and Development) |
